CHOOSING YOUR DESIGN
Master Your Rug Design
Ready to bring your vision to life? We've got everything you need to help you choose the perfect design and get tufting!
Tuft Like a Pro
Epic rugs start way before the workshop. Learn how to select a design so that it translates to the canvas well and is fun and easy to tuft.
Choose Your Design
Choosing your own rug design is one of the most exciting parts of the tufting experience.
You’ll be tracing your design onto the tufting frame, so please have a few design options saved on your phone. We can help you choose which will be the best.
01
Keep it Simple
Choose an image that has solid, defined lines. Think "coloring page" or "outlines".Avoid smaller details. Simple is better (and more fun!)

02
Skip the Text
We recommend avoiding letters and text. Small letters are difficult to tuft.If you have your heart set on text, you'll want to stick to large block or bubble letters.

03
Stick to Solids

Graded colors and blended shades don't translate well to the canvas. Solid colors and simple shading work best when selecting an image with color.
If you think your image may be too complicated, you can use ChatGPT to simplify it. Simply use the phrase "make this image a simple outline".
Size Matters
Your tufting space is either 30" x 30" (Classic) or 18" x 18" (MINIs). Keeping your concept clean, bold, and highly simplified is the ultimate secret to a masterpiece. Intricate details will not show correctly and you may not finish in time.
Design Ready
Save your artwork directly to your phone before arriving. At the studio, we'll help you get set up to project your image from your device and trace it onto to the tufting frame to use as a stencil as you tuft.

Workshops will begin promptly at the scheduled time. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early. Late arrivals will be asked to simplify your design in order to finish in time. Arrivals more than 15 minutes late will forfeit the workshop. For your safety and comfort, check out the tips below:
What if I don't finish in time?
If your design is too complex or you do not finish in time, we have options. Choose from any of the available paid options for our team to complete your rug after the class has ended.
